We held our first course recently, providing Paediatric First Aid Training to 9 of our Claire’s staff. New guidance has advised that staff working with Nursery and Reception children be trained in Paediatric First Aid. Dianne from DB Safety Training was the provider and it was incredibly well received.
Thank you to everyone who attended for their commitment to their own professional development and dedication to adding another qualification to their CVs.
Here is some of the feeback we received:
Q: What were the most useful elements of the course for you?
Learning CPR in case of an emergency for both children and adults. Learning about a defibrillator, I was aware of where to find one locally but not previously been trained on how to use one. Also how to apply a dressing correctly on an arm or around the head.
The tests that we were given to refresh our memories and the presentation on burns and cuts.
The breadth of information about different things you could come across at a school or nursery, including the latest guidance.
Q:What were your thoughts on the provider that we found?
The course leader was friendly and approachable. She answered all my questions and helped if you needed support with any practical aspect but I felt comfortable to ask and be shown, without feeling you were getting it wrong!
