The one time in the school year that we were guaranteed to have children stand in silence, and able to hear a pin drop, was at the Remembrance Day service or at the memorial. In my experience, if the pupils are taught about WHY we stop for 2 minutes every November, they are almost always respectful and reverent.
It is important that we stop to remember the act of sacrifice thousands made for a more peaceful future, not just in the past but still to this day within the Armed services.
Hopefully, some of these resources will prove useful for you, not just this November but every November.
