Claire’s School Solutions are currently recruiting for 7 teaching assistants to support a lovely secondary school in the Burton-on-Trent area. All roles are full-time, require immediate starts and will be ongoing.

Six of the teaching assistants will be distributed between all year groups, between year 7 and 12. There will also be some SEN children in these classes, so SEND experience is desirable.

The last teaching assistant will be required to assist a pupil in a wheelchair, so this includes assisting them access classrooms, attend a computer club and other clubs. The pupil has no learning difficulties. This is a full time role for the whole academic year.

The duties of these roles are those of a general classroom TA and therefore can range from classroom preparation to reading with children or supporting teachers in managing class behaviour. 

As a Teaching Assistant you must have a positive mind-set and will have strong engagement abilities to support the development of the students. You will show reliability, good teamwork, flexibility, adaptability and commitment to working. You will also need to be able to build rapport with students. 

Skills:

* To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning

* Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities

* To use positive and personalised behaviour management strategies

* Able to adapt to different working environments

You will have:

* Previous experience working with children.

* Have an understanding of safeguarding.

* A passion for working and supporting children’s learning.
